Thanks to all who participated in CATTEC VI. A record 92 attendees registered for this year’s annual MRUN gathering. Thanks especially to our sponsors listed below and to our event partners, the LES- Chicago Chapter and with ACCT Canada – the Alliance for Commercialization of Canadian Technologies. With the help of these organizations MRUN was able to more broadly leverage experience across the region especially including our neighbors to the North.

The local entrepreneurial community is that mix of ‘attitude’ with the bundle of entities, programs and people that entrepreneurs access to launch and grow their companies. The Midwest has an incredibly rich mix of innovation communities. The CATTEC Series aims to acquaint key players across the region so they can more effectively leverage the talent, capital, suppliers, and customers that startups need.
This year CATTEC featured several hotspots of innovation both within and beyond the the Midwest. CATTEC VI “Zoomed-In” on regional innovations in start-up development in Chicago, St Louis and Toronto, plus offered a taste of some global hotspots as well with comments from entrepreneurs who have relationships in Brazil, China, Israel and Mexico. Attendees heard from speakers that highlight what is happening in their respective start-up communities regarding co-working, accelerators, mentoring, novel funding mechanisms, university programs and corporate programs as applicable. Plus, attendees heard pitches from seven emerging companies coming out of their respective tech scenes.
